EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES
ELMA proudly supports programs that introduce children, teens, and college students to European cinema and filmmakers. We believe that early exposure to European film fosters a deeper appreciation for diversity and multiculturalism among the next generation of young Americans.

PARTNERSHIP WITH TAFFF
High School Screenings and Master Classes in International Cinema
ELMA partners with The American French Film Festival (TAFFF) to introduce students across Southern California to the richness of international cinema. Together, we present two key initiatives: High School Screenings and the Master Class Program.
Each year, more than 3,000 students and teachers take part in the High School Screenings, which have reached nearly 39,000 participants from over 130 schools since the program began. These screenings give young audiences an early opportunity to engage with films that broaden perspectives, spark conversation, and celebrate cultural diversity.
The Master Class Program brings visiting French filmmakers into colleges and film schools for direct exchanges with students, offering insight into the creative process and global filmmaking.
Through these programs, ELMA and TAFFF nurture the next generation of curious, open-minded filmgoers.
Admission to high school screenings is free and open to all high school teachers and their students in Southern California. If your class or institution would like to participate in either the screenings or the Master Class, please visit the TAFFF website for more information: Masterclass, High School Screenings.
